Blink 192 is back. Tour dates are here.

Yay! Blink 182 is back in business, they have announced their tour dates. I'm excited because I want to go to one of their concertI don't know when they are coming to Florida but if it's in Miami or Orlando I'm going for sure. Here is a link for more information about the Blink 182 tour dates.
Blink 182 is touring with Greenday, Fallout boy and more. I really don't like who they are touring with but I don't mind since they are a really good band. More information about the people who they are touring with is here.
*Edit* Looks like they will be preforming at West Palm Beach on Sept 4. My aunt lives over there so I think I'll go to that concert.

Street Light Manifesto

I don't know if I like Street Light Manifesto more than Reel Big Fish. At the moment I'll go with SLM just because from what I've listen to so far. I heard that RBF is way better live but I can't decide that yet because I have only listened to SLM live. I like them a lot because everyone at the concert is happy and ready to go skanking. I think that Street Light Manifesto has a great rhytm to it and they know how to change the pace of the song. So far I like them more thank Reel Big Fish.
Reel Big Fish
is a great band. I want to go to one of their live shows becuase you can see how much crowd interracton they have. Their shows all seem full of energy and excitement. I've been looking at a lot of their songs and concers and they cover a lot of bands. One of my favotie songs thet cover is Take On Me by Aha. I've been looking for the next Reel Big Fish concers near me but have not found it yet. I'll get very excited if they come play live over here tough, can't wait to see them.

Ska!
Yay, I found a new genre to listen to. Ska Punk. Ska punk is a fusion music genre that combines ska and punk rock. Ska punk achieved its greatest popularity in the United States in the late 1990s, although there has also been a following worldwide. Several ska punk bands achieved mainstream commercial success, which in some cases continued into the 2000s. It's very hiped up and just makes me want to be in Ska concert. I've seen some but never been in one, want to go now. Some good ska bands are Reel Big Fish, The Aquabats, and Street Light Manifesto (my favorite). At the moment Ska is my favorie genre and I can't wait to see Street Light Manifesto at Warped Tour. Here is one of their songs:
New Music?
I'm trying out new music. I like all music, i enjoy listening to it no matter what I'm doing. I'm kind of bored of listening to the same old music, the music that I'm in to at the moment is Acacia Strain, Bleeding Trough, As Blood Runs Black, A Day to Remember, and Circa Survive. Most of it is hard core (except Circa Survive). I want to get into a new kind of music, I always change to the genre I listen to (I think that's why I like all kinds of genres). I'm thinking of listening to some "underground" rap like Army of the Pharaohs, Jedi Mind Tricks, and Atmosphere. It's soothing and I like how everything rhymes and kind of flows together. Here is an example of one of the "chill" Atmosphere songs:

Swine Flu, Overrated?
In my opinion the Swine Flu is way to overated. About 30,000 to 40,000 deaths occur due to the flu each year in the United States. The Swine Flu is scaring everyone becuase it's somethign that we have not seen before and the media hyped it too much. In my opinion it's not the serious, and people should stop making it seem bigger than it is. It is deadly and it has killed inocent people but the regular flu and other diseases.
Here is a video to understand Swine Flu better:
Here is a video to understand Swine Flu better:
Swine Flu in Florida.
"Lee County Health Department and the Lee County School Board have announced an additional probable case of swine flu in Lee County in a school-aged child that attends Spring Creek Elementary. The total case count at Spring Creek is one confirmed, and two probable cases" -news-press.com. The Swine Flu already made it to Florida. There has been two cases, one in Lee County and the other one in ours, Broward. The governor announced this on Friday May 1st. No information has been announced about closing schools.

Fighting
Is fighting wrong? Everyone says that getting into fights and beating each other up won't solve anything, but today we proved that wrong. Two of my closest friends got into a huge argument and ended up wanting to fight. They decided to meet up somewhere to fight, and they did. It was just a one on one fist fight, nothing dangerous. After the fight they ended up being closer than they were before, if they would have just kept on talking it would have made everything worse. While they were talking they wanted to kill each other up, after the fight they just ended up hanging out together. I don't know if this is how the male mind works but I think that fighting makes things better, it's just like a stress reliever and it helps you calm down and think more about what you have done. I know that if they would have kept talking back to each other they would have ended up never talking or hanging out again. Fighting just made it so both of them would calm down and just take all that stress out. I don't know if fighting will always be the best thing, but it has worked a lot of times, specially this one. What do you think? Is it better to let out all that anger and fight or try to talk and clam down?
Biodiesel from Algae Oil
Scientist are starting to make Biodiesel from algea. Algae are an extremely important species. For one, they produce more oxygen than all the plants in the world, put together! For another, they form an important food source for many animals such as little shrimps and huge whales. With the recent research and interest into using algae for producing biodiesel, they have the potential to become even more important. Researchers have found that this fuel is very efficient and they have already started focusing on making products fueled by this "Oilgae". More information about this topic can be found in the Oilgae website.

The Wii

The Wii has not really been as successful as the Xbox 360 but right now I think it's catching up. This surprised me when my mom told me that she wanted to get a Wii for the WiiSports and WiiFit, I tough she was joking at first. The Wii is coming out with a lot of new interactive games, they have the sports game, the "fit" game, puzzle games, and even cooking games. I think that the Wii is going to be really successful if they keep on doing this. At the moment the Wii is targeting three different audiences, little kids, teens, and adults, while the xbox just targets teen and they keep on coming out with FPS's. Well my mom said she was going to get a Wii for us this weekend, I hope is true, I have not played a Wii in a while.
Iron Maiden

Today is the concert, one of my favorite bands, Iron Maiden. I was supposed to go but I had to end up selling my ticket becuase my parents and I got into a little argument and I ended up being "grounded" so I couldn't go. The concert is probably going to be awesome and I'm really mad that I got to miss on this one in a life time opportunity. I got the tickets a long time ago and ended up selling them for $60 when I bought them for $80... I guess it's not that bad since I got to keep the money. I still wanted to go to Iron Maiden really bad. Did any of you go?

Oh wow, not even close! Jonas Brother's like The Beatles... Hah!

I don't think that a lot of people our age even care about them, the Jonas Brother's are only an "Idol" for little elementary school girls. I don't really think that they have much talent and I hate when people compare them to The Beatles or other great bands.I don't know if they like comparing themselves to The Beatles but I know that they will never be like them, the Jonas Brothers even made a remake of "Hello, Goodbye" A band like The Beatles went have gone trough a lot and experimented with a lot of different music. The Jonas Brothers are just a way for Disney to make money, just like Miley Cyrus. I don't think that the Jonas Brothers will even come close to being as good as The Beatles were. I think that in a year or two everyone is going to forget about them and there is going to be a bigger star that Disney has come up with.
Watchmen

I saw this movie and now I want to read the graphic novel. I really liked this movie and the point that it gets across. I like how the blood lands on the comedians smiley face button representing that there can't be happiness without blood. I think that this shows people the idea that we are our biggest enemy. There is always hatred amongst every human, there is always a group that wants to be superior. The only way to end the war was to make everyone believe that there was a greater force that they had to destroy. When the Americans and the Russians saw this they decided to team up and fight that to prove that they are greater. Everyone always wants to be on top and like this it will be an endless cycle of fighting. Here is an awesome interactive page about the movie that introduces the characters. Visit the site and enter your name to experience a 10-minute long interactive trailer for WATCHMEN. You will enter the world of WATCHMEN, interact with one of the characters, and unlock exclusive content from the film.

Good bye Fcat!

Finally! It's over... I think... That's what I tought last year but this year it's for sure, the Fcat is finally gone. The science Fcat was really easy and I think that they gave us way too much time to do it. The time per section was 75 minutes and I took about 25 minutes to do it. It was kind of pointless for our education, it was only benifitial for the schools grade. At least it is finally over and we don't have to worry about it any more.
German student kills 15 people.
German teen Tim Kretschmer, 17 years old, massacred 15 people at a school in Winnenden. Tim had warned everyone over an internet chat room, "It said something like, 'Everybody is laughing at me. Nobody recognises my potential. I have arms, I have guns, and tomorrow morning I will go to my previous school and show them what I can do'," Mr Rech said. Tim had warned the students what he was going to do and I guess no one saw it or took it seriious. Tim Kretschmer was a computer game and gun enthusiast.
The news has given gun videogames bad publicity, some people say that violence videogames were the reason why Tim killed the people. I don't belive that gun/violent games should be accused for causing Tim to do what he did. Tim's father was a member of the Rifle Association and had guns arround the house. I doubt that videogames were the cause of Tims massacre. What do you guys think?

Is the legalization on Marijuana in California a good idea?

Its being called The Inalienable Rights Enforcement Initiative. From the full text of the measure:
"This initiative will amend the Constitution of California to defend and safeguard the inalienable rights of the People against infringement by governments and corporations, providing for the lawful growth, sale, and possession of marijuana. Marijuana will be taxed through a system of stamps and licenses--a $5 stamp will be required for the sale of an eighth ounce of marijuana and a $50 annual license will be required for the growth of one marijuana plant. To protect participants and encourage participation in the system, such licenses and stamps will be available anonymously in stores where marijuana is sold."
Do you guys think that this is a good idea? Do you think that by legalizing weed in California it will spread throughout the United States? Most important, do you think that taxing it will help the economy? Give me toughts.
Warped Tour

I think that this years Warped Tour is going to be really good. Good band are going and I'm also going with a lot of friends. It's going to be Sat Jul 25 at Miami. I'm pumped beucase I have not gone to Warped Tour yet and this year I'm going with a lot of people. I already got my moms approval and I have everything planned. Anyone else going?

Culture Room
We all know Culture Room right? It the place were all the concerts are at. I've gone to this place for four concerts so far, and tomorrow will be my 5th. I have noticed that the place is really small and its really hazardous in case of a fire. If a fire broke out everyone would die because the fire exits are blocked and when its a big concert the place is really packed, so packed that anyone can hardly move. Have you been to Culture Room? What's your opinion?
Friday the 13th (2009)... Not that good.

I saw this movie last Friday and I did not like it. I seriously tough it was funnier than it was scarier.I'm still deciding if it was a porno, a horror film, or a comedy. There are a lot of pointless sex scenes and the kills that Jason did were gory, but not scary at all. All of the deaths were predictable and they did the whole "BOOM" sound effects to scare you. If a horror movie has to use loud sounds to scare you, that's sad. A real horror movie is not predictable, my friend called out every death like 2 minutes before they happened. The only sacred people in the theater were some middle school girls, I swear that I heard more laughs than shrieks. If I go watch a horror movie I want to see one that is not predictable at all, and one that does not have to use loud sounds to scare you. I don't recommend this movie to anyone, In a scale from 1-10 1 being the worst 10 being the best I rate it a 3. I gave it a 3 because it made me laugh at a lot of scenes, yup, that's how fail of a horror it is. There are people who will disagree, but I think it could have been a lot scarier.

More about Travis.

Travis barker experienced a plane crash On September 19, 2008. The jet was headed for Van Nuys, California but it crashed at the run way outside of Columbia, South Carolina. The plane was departing the airport when air traffic controllers saw sparks emanating from the plane. It went off the runway, smashed through a fence, crossed a nearby road, slammed into an embankment and caught fire. He was transported to the burn center and was listed in a critical condition. Barker sued the plane's owners, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and an airplane maintenance company on November 21, 2008. He sought more than $25,000 in damages "for pain and suffering, disfigurement, loss of earnings, and medical and legal expenses", claiming that the companies had "improperly operated and maintained the Learjet".
Blink 182 reunion!

At the 51st Grammy Awards ceremony on February 8, 2009, all three members of the band appeared onstage for the first time since December 2004. A great band is coming back again. After Travis Barker (Blink 182's drummer) tragic accident the band finally talked to each other and are thinking of a reunion. The logo has also changed from having five arrows to six. On February 16, DeLonge confirmed that Blink-182 would be touring in "a big event" this summer. I love this band and I can't wait to go to one of their concerts.

Vans Shoes

I love Vans Shoes. They are comfy, they are good for skating, and they look good. However some people there is something behind the average Vans shoes. On every Vans shoe you'll find a pattern of a bunch of little stars, and they are the Star of David. A lot of people have taken this as a way of saying "step on the Jews" and they call people who wear Vans and people who made them neo-Nazis. I don't really think it means that, how about you?
The World's Youngest Transsexual

Kim Petras (Left image) is considered the worlds youngest transsexual. Kim Petras, born Tim Petras, is a German teenager who decided to become a girl at the age of two. She said "I was always a girl born in a boys body." At the age of 12 she started going trough the operation treatments. The doctors injected female hormones and stopped the male puberty. When Kim was 16 she got the operation and she is now legally considered a female. Kim is 16 and she's a successful German pop star. What do you guys think? Was this a good idea? Any comments?

China thinks ahead. Make internet addiction clinics!

Internet addiction keeps on getting worse because of new internet advances. China has already started thinking ahead and they have made clinics for young internet addicts. "Alarmed by a survey that found that nearly 14 percent of teens in China are vulnerable to becoming addicted to the Internet, the Chinese government has launched a nationwide campaign to stamp out what the Communist Youth League calls "a grave social problem" that threatens the nation." - Internet Article.
World of Warcraft... one of the biggest internet addictions out there

One of the biggest internet addiction is a game developed by Blizzard called World of Warcraft.
This game is like an "alternate life" were people from all around the world can interact with each other. As of now over 14 million of people play this game, and about 20% are addicted. This is a serious issue with today's society becuase it's not only young people who play this game but also elderly people play this. Everyone from the age range of 12-55 play this game. Here is a youtube video of a world of warcraft addict. People who play this game become "moody and violent" and they stop caring about their social lifes.

Are you addicted? How can you stop?
Some people might not notice and they might have IAD. How do you know if you have IAD? I found a great website that allows you to take a survey to find out how addicted you are, here check it out.
Well, are you addicted or not? Ready to stop it? It's not easy once you are addicted to the Internet and have a bunch of accounts that you check everyday, this is not like smoking, were you can just get a "Anti-Smoke Patch". Some tips to stop "wasting" your time online are:
- Find new hobbies.
- If you have an online account that you don't need, cancel it.
- When you are bored, avoid the Internet.
- Read the News"PAPER" instead of looking at it online
- If you can, limit checking your email.
These are some tips that can help IAD. The most important thing to do to stop IAD is set a scechule of when you are going to use the Internet, for what reason, and follow it.

The Addiction
Internet addiction is becoming a serious problem in today's society. A lot of people are suffering from Internet addiction disorder (IAD), and it's not only the young audience, some elderly people as well. This a new kind of addiction that is becoming as bad as drug or alcohol addiction, but of course, the outcome is not as critical. A lot of people rather be sitting behind a computer instead of going outside and meeting new people and doing new things. IAD has spread becuase of all the things that you can do online in toady's word, you can shop, watch a movie, read the news, play video games, chat with friends, and many more things. The Internet is not completely bad, it can also be used for a lot of positive things, but it is bad when you abuse it, when you don't take it in moderation and put a time limit on what you do. Here is a great website to read about the dissorder, and my other blog has a survey that lets you know if you are addicted.
